Breaking Wooden Boards Like a Beast

March 1991 - Right before testing for the green belt
Hey part-timers, I have been converting my family's old home videos into a digital format the last couple of weeks and I came across a gem that was too good to not share. You know that I have a love for martial arts films, but you may not know that I practiced taekwondo as a child. I gave it up when I moved to Florida in 1991, but I think if I would've stayed dedicated to the sport I could have been pretty darn good at it.

Anyways, I came across a video of me testing to earn my green belt and I decided to share it here. I was required to pass two tests, my kata form and breaking a wooden board. My kata is a thing of beauty, but asking a second grader without a lot of weight behind him to break a wooden board for produces some interesting results. Make sure you watch to the end as I unleash the beast! You won't be disappointed!
